“Meeting Upon the Level”
As Brethren, we are taught that all men are created equal in the sight of the Great Architect of the Universe — regardless of wealth, status, or worldly distinction.
The Level, one of the working tools entrusted to us, reminds us that beneath our aprons, we stand as equals. The banker and the labourer, the scholar and the tradesman — all meet upon the same level within the Lodge, united not by rank, but by virtue and brotherly love.
This Friday, as the week’s titles and roles fall away, let us pause and reflect: Do we treat all men — inside and outside the Lodge — with the same respect and dignity, regardless of their station in life?
True Masonic character is not measured by how we treat those above us, but by how we regard those the world may overlook.
Let us walk this weekend as we meet in Lodge — upon the level — extending kindness, patience, and equality to all we encounter.
“We meet upon the level, and we part upon the square.”
May the Great Architect bless you and your loved ones with peace this weekend.
